I wrote a note N.C last night. I wish she would stop going with G. I don’t think he is a nice boy. He whistle at us girl every time we go past. If she dont stop going with G.E. I will stop going with her. I go with Hun* a good deal lately. Louise was up last Saturday. We had lots of fun. E.S. + G.E. are both* stuck* on her.

July 27, 95

Vern went away today. Last night Wendell gave me three cigarette pictures. I gave Kate and Neila* each one. I mad up with Nellie yesterday. Elma, May and I went out riding last night.

They did not anounce we won in the paper.

Saturday Apr 1

I made my doll a guimp* and made some molasses candy. My new suit is done. Tomorrow is Easter. Katie and I got supper for mama. Mama has caught cold. I try to do as God wants me to but it is hard sometimes.

Apr 2

I got up at seven and found a nest with a duck and four eggs in it. The sun is shining. I got breakfast. Went to church and went to the Expotion* with Miss S to hear Mr. Mills.

Went to school and to Harry’s

After school mended a pair of stockings and read my Bible.

I got up a 7 oclock curled my hair went to school. I wrote a story last night with Uncle Wilber *** paper playes* games.

Sick all day Wednesday. Mama is sick too today.

Feb 13

Tomorrow will be Valentines Day. I am going to fool Harry. Send his one under S(scratched out)s name. We sent him a comic one and he sent me one too.

Feb 19

I got 9 valentines and one comic one from Harry. Yesterday was Sunday and we went up to Mrs. Wingates. Today is very cold! The note E.E wrote was to Nellie C. I don’t like E.E. one bit. Not Ethel. I like her. I don’t think *** cares for me now she has got H.A. to play with. I have be writing stories to please Forrest with later.

Feb 26

We have had *day vacation. I went to the Sr* Enctenors* yesterday. It was a work day and Forrest went without his coat. I expect he will catch cold. I have been out sliding on the hill before school. F gave me some candy.

Feb 27

Today is papa’s birthday and Long fellows also. Elma fell on the ice and sprained her ankle. Norbert K and Charley B have come in my room.

I got up at half past six and went outdoor to slide in the ice with Forrest.

Feb 29

Went out and slid on the ice before breakfast. Aunt Nellie came over before school. Today is sunny.

Yesterday I went over to Nellie Convesse* and Harry’s.

Today is Tuesday, Fla* has made up with me. It is quite warm and we have been jumping rope.

Lizzie has lost her watch and we think (scratched out) has got it. They have got a detective.

Frances mother died this morning.

Lizzie found her watch.

Mama and Kate have gone to the lake. Our room had a picnic at the falls. I went. EE tried very hard to go with H.A. but she don’t like him.

June 8

School is out. N.C is mad at C.B. She was down most all day.

June 9

It is Saturday. E.W. came over this morning. When to matanee this afternoon.

June 10

Sunday

It is Children Day. We sung in choir. Met H.P coming home from church when out walkin with H.C. EE give me a rose. H.C is mad at EE. F.G has moved. E (scratched out) likes H but she doesn’t like E. I think N is mad at me.

June 11

Papa went to Stillwater today. H.A. came over and she didnt see why EE thought she liked him for there was only one boy that she cares anything about. That* he in MW. Went out riding in the evening and had a fight with EE.

June 12

N gave C a note last night that will end their pleasure. She is going to go with R.H. Mama and Kate came home tonight. K and I layed in the hammock until ten oclock at night.

June 13

Our class has a picnic at Min. Falls today. I didn’t go but stayed home to help get ready for Miss Palmer. K and I went to a show tho. E and L had f* 4 mins. LB loves TH

June 14

Miss Palmer is coming tonight at eleven oclock.

June 15 Friday

Miss Palmer came last night. Uncle Wilber seems very happy. Should ** wonder if I had a new Auntie pretty soon. I haven’t seen N since Tuesday. I wish N would come down. It to hot to go up there. I laying in the hammock. It is real cool here. I had the funnyest dream last night. I dream that I had a party and Mama wouldn’t let me ware anything but the sateen skirt and waist*. When I went there I didn’t see anybody out so I went in a church that was next door until K came then we both went to it. The people were all there but then couldn’t find N anywhere. I dream the party was from 8 to ten at night and I didn’t get there until half past eight because I went in the church then I woke up.

June 19

Went to S.S. picnic. Played with N a little and then she went off and acted as if she didn’t care for me. Had a real nice time. Went to loadland* with Hatie. Hattie J. fell down a bank and fractured her nose. H.P. and C.W. went with us. We siate* then race. It was fun. Uncle W. and Miss P went too. Would have a lovely if it hadn’t been for N. I couldn’t help seeing she doesn’t care for me. Hope met her down at the boat launching and told her I was hunting all over for her and she said, “I don’t care, let her hunt.” She as made up with C but she won’t tell me anything about it.

June 20

I have been sick all day. I guess I caught cold at the picnic. I wish N would come down but I suppose she to busy with C.B. Miss P is going to Merrian Park tomorrow and Uncle W to Fargo. I wonder where H is? I suppose she is with L, if she hasn’t gone to the lake yet. It is very warm today.

Thursday June 21

The first day of Summer. It’s a little cooler. Mama is going down town this afternoon. I wish N would come down. If she doesn’t I think I’ll go over to H. It rained a little last night. K went out riding. E.W. and N and mine and E initials in a singing book at church but I am going to make her erase it. I wrote a note to N and asked EW to take it but her mother let her and so N didn’t come down.

June 22

R and E came over. R thought he was smart and tried to act funny. He came over in evening but he went to the lake. I went over to L in the afternoon. I do wish N would come down. She told R that she would.

June 23

I went to L___ church. N didn’t come as she said she would. I saw her at church in the evening but she seem mad at me. She would hardly stop to speak to me but went right off with H.J. I don’t see what I done that she should treat me so, she the girl I care more for than any other. I don’t believe she likes me at all but I am not mad at her and wish she would come down.

June 25

Tuesday

Went down town and bought a sailor hat and pair of slippers.

June 26

Went to Ione’s birthday party. Had a nice time. I met Ada going over and asked her to tell N to come down.

June 27

Went out to lake Harriet in the evening and had to come home before it was all over because it looked like rain. Got caught in the rain at H Ave and went into a drug store until it was over. Came down Nic Ave and saw E who looked at me so astonished as if it was something awful to be out walking in a rain.

Miss Palmer went to Duluth today.

July 1

I went to Sunday school and saw N. I think she must be (scratched out) she acts so quear. I am so sorry if she is for I (5 lines scratched out) hard to get along without her. I saw E and told E that Miss D- was married.

July 4

Had real nice time. E fell down and hurt himself awfully so he could hardly walk. I went over to H in evening to help her *** up her firewood.

July 8

Went to sunday school. N is not mad at all. She fell down and hurt herself the 4th. R is all the time trying to find out who I am mad at but I won’t tell.

July 15

I went to S.S. and Jr. En. I guess had a picnic. We would open the wonda* and they fly shirt* all the time and E. went out and propped them up with stid*. N and M and E and EH and I sit in the back part of the room and had a fine time after Jr. We had a fight with M. 

July 25

N.C. and E.E. went down all the afternoon.
